EXERCISE 

1) Change the following sentence into indirect speech 

a) he says ," I always do my duty ."

a) he says that he always does his duty .

b) She says ," My Mother is ill." 

A- She  says that her mother is ill.

c) Aruna says ," I am a school girl ," 

A- Aruna says that she is a school girl .

d) You will say ," I shall go to shillong," 

A- You will say that you will go to shilliong ,"

e) You said to me , " You are fortunate ," 

A- You told me that I was fortunate. 

f) He is saying to me , " I don't believe you."

A- He is telling  me that he does  not believe me. 

g) He said to me ," Rina is a clever girl."

A- He told me that Rina was a clever girl.

h) Rama said ," I was doing my homework ".

A- Rama said that she had been doing her homework . 

i) Tarun said to barun," You will be happy".

A- Tarun told barun that he ( Barun) would be happy."

j) Ratna said to her sister ," I have done this ." 

A- Ratna told her sister that she had done that. 

k) Atul said to me ," I bought a new camera yesterday." 

A- Atul told me that he had bought a new camera the previous day.

l) Father said to me ," God is good

A- Father told me that God is good.  ,"

m) I said to them ," You have done wrong".

A- I told them that they had done wrong".

n) He said to me ," I shall not mix with you." 

A- He told me that he would not mix with me .

o) He says to me ," I shall tell you a long story." 

A- He tells me that he will tell me a long story. 

p) Mridul is saying ," I can sing well." 

A- Mridul is saying that he can sings well .

q) He said to me," Spring comes after winter,"

A- He told me that Spring comes after winter . 

r) My father said to you ," I walk to miles every morning."

A- My father told me that he walks to miles every morning .

s) She said to me , " My uncle will come here tomorrow,"

A- She told me that her uncle would go there the next day .

t) He said to you," I visited Chandigarh last year,

A- He told me that he had visited Chandigarh the previous year.
