 AN APPROACH TO ENGLISH GRAMMAR & COMPOSITION

1) REPORT THE FOLLOWING IN DIRECT SPEECH  

a) He said that he was weak.

ANS- He said," i am weak". 

b) You said that time and tide wait for none.

ANS-You said ," time and tide wait for none".

c) He Said that he would go there next day 

ANS- You said," I shall come here tomorrow ".

d) Ram said that he had been reading the Mahabharata .

ANS- Ram said ," I was reading the Mahabharata 

e) I wrote that I would visit him next day .

ANS- I wrote ," I will visit you tomorrow".

f) He said that he was tired.

ANS- He said ," I am tired."

g) He told me that he had passed the Examination .

ANS- He said to me," I passed the Examination 

h) The man told the girl that he knew her father .

ANS- The man said to the girls ," I know your father ."

i) He told me that he was very glad to be there that evening 

ANS- He said to me ," I am very glad to be here this evening ."

j) He said that he had written that letter.

ANS- He said," I have written this letter."

k) She told me that she had bought those books the previous day.

ANS- She said to me," I bought these books yesterday."

l) He said that his father would go there that day.

ANS- He said ," My father will come here tomorrow."
